The difference between Karl Fischer reagent with pyridine and without pyridine

Pyridine is a compound with a foul odor. Some laboratories have strict requirements and cannot use pyridine. Fluoride reacts with pyridine. If the sample tested by Karl Fischer titrator contains fluoride, pyridine electrolyte cannot be used. However, pyridine electrolyte has good stability and a longer shelf life than pyridine-free electrolyte, so it is used more frequently.
